Aster NELGA

Focus on Aesthetics and Durability in Commercial Production

The «Nelga» aster variety, developed by the I.V. Michurin Federal Scientific Center, is a breeding product tailored for professional floriculture and distribution through cut flower markets. Choosing this variety is a strategic decision for growers aiming to produce blooms that maintain high market quality during transportation and demonstrate excellent vase life.

Operational Scenarios in the Field

• Cut Flower Production Scheduling. Due to its uniform flowering pattern, this variety allows growers to plan harvesting cycles efficiently, minimizing labor costs associated with manual sorting.
• Retail Distribution. «Nelga» exhibits high inflorescence density, a critical trait for professional bouquet assembly. Its resistance to lodging simplifies weed control and crop maintenance operations.
• Landscape Design. The variety is widely used in landscaping projects where visually striking yet stable floral patches are required, ensuring minimal maintenance throughout the growing season.

Agronomists opt for this variety for its consistent performance: when standard irrigation and fertilizer protocols are applied, «Nelga» develops a robust plant structure with stems highly resistant to wind load. This significantly reduces the rejection rate when grown in open fields, which directly improves the profitability per hectare.
