Aster Alina

Breeding Legacy and Reliability

The 'Alina' perennial aster is a product of rigorous breeding, developed by experts at the I.V. Michurin Federal Research Center in collaboration with specialists from 'Russian Seeds' (O.A. Karpov and B.A. Kuzichev). This variety was engineered to meet the market demand for resilient yet aesthetically striking plants capable of withstanding harsh climatic conditions without sacrificing their commercial appeal.

Botanical Profile and Dimensions

Alina distinguishes itself with a semi-spherical flower head reaching an impressive 10–15 cm in diameter. The plant develops a robust, sturdy bush ranging from 50 to 80 cm in height. Its structural integrity makes it a versatile tool for landscape design: depending on planting density, it functions equally well as a structural element in border compositions or as a focal point in flower beds.

Field Performance and Durability

The primary advantage of this variety is its status as a true perennial. Bred for cold climates, it possesses excellent winter hardiness, allowing it to survive outdoor winters successfully. Beyond its longevity in the garden, 'Alina' excels in cut flower production. The dense texture of the blooms ensures good transportability and a long vase life, a critical factor for professional floriculturists.
