Chinese Aster Lady Coral (Callistephus chinensis Lady Coral) is a tall plant with a regular pyramidal bush shape and strong stems reaching a height of 60-70 cm. The inflorescences of this series are double-flowered, spherical, with a diameter of 10-12 cm, distinguished by exceptional density and resembling both a rose and a chrysanthemum at the same time. Thanks to its decorativeness and long-lasting freshness in a vase, Lady Coral aster is widely used for decorating suburban plots and cut flowers.
Lady Coral aster can be grown via seedlings, which are sown in March-April followed by pricking out at the stage of 2-3 true leaves according to the scheme 5x5. Seedlings are transplanted into open ground in mid-May. With the seedling-free method, seeds can be sown early in spring or under winter. The plant is undemanding, responds well to fertilization, which promotes abundant and prolonged flowering.
Lady Coral aster is perfect for planting in flower beds, mixed borders, mass plantings, and large containers. Its striking double-flowered flowers create a bright accent in the garden and are excellent for cut flowers, thanks to which they maintain their decorativeness in a vase for a long time.
