Astra 'Nastenka' is a popular annual with a compact, upright bush reaching 50-60 cm in height. The flowers are of medium size, up to 10 cm in diameter, featuring an attractive blue-violet hue. The plant begins blooming in mid-to-late July and continues to delight with its flowers until the onset of cold weather, making it an excellent choice for long-lasting garden decoration.
Astra 'Nastenka' can be grown via seedlings or direct sowing into the ground. Seeds are recommended to be sown in March-April in a greenhouse or hotbed, where seedlings appear within 10-15 days at a temperature of 18-21 °C. Sowing can also be carried out in April-May directly into open ground. For successful growth and abundant flowering, the astra prefers well-lit sunny areas with nutrient-rich soil.
This variety of astra is widely used for cut flowers and looks great in group plantings and flower beds. Thanks to its compact form and bright flower coloration, 'Nastenka' will become a wonderful addition to any garden, creating striking floral compositions and decorating the space until late autumn.
