Aster Ladushka

Genetic Potential of "Ladushka"

The selection program of SKFNAZ (North Caucasian Federal Agricultural Research Center) has introduced the "Ladushka" variety, which transforms the perception of asters in agriculture. Unlike ornamental forms, this variety was specifically selected for the food sector. The scientific approach to selection, implemented by a team of scientists led by V. I. and A. V. Kozhevnikov, allowed for the reduction of bitterness and toughness typical of wild species while maintaining high metabolic activity of the plant.

Agrotechnical Features and Application

• Target Category: An annual crop with a short vegetation cycle, allowing for efficient crop rotation planning.
• Gastronomic Profile: The variety is optimized for use in salads. The foliage has a specific texture and a balanced flavor profile, making the product highly sought after in the HoReCa segment.
• Production Efficiency: As the originator is the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution SKFNAZ, the seed material has undergone years of verification for stability of varietal traits in the Southern climate, ensuring predictable results in commercial farming.

The practical value of "Ladushka" lies in the potential to harvest early vitamin-rich crops. The biological plasticity of the variety allows for its adaptation to various soil types, provided that basic agricultural requirements are met. Choosing the domestic selection of SKFNAZ means securing reliable seed material adapted to regional stress factors.
