OLD QUARTZ LOCK ASTER

The Chinese aster of the 'Old Quartz Lock' variety is a tall, peony-flowered plant that stands out for its striking appearance and high decorativeness. The bushes form a typical pyramidal silhouette 60-70 cm high, covered during the flowering period with densely double flowers 10-12 cm in diameter. The flowers have a delicate aroma and remain attractive both when opening and in full bloom. Tall, slender, and elastic stems make this variety especially convenient for cutting and bouquet creation, while up to 10-12 strong flower stalks can form on one bush, allowing several bouquets to be obtained from a single plant.

The 'Old Quartz Lock' variety is distinguished by exceptional inflorescence density and flower strength, which do not suffer from rain and retain freshness in cut flowers for a long time. Thanks to these qualities, the aster is widely used for cutting and is also suitable for creating impressive single or group plantings in the garden. The plant does not require complex care, which makes it accessible even to beginner gardeners. However, it should be noted that the variety is susceptible to fusarium infection, so it is recommended to change the planting site annually to prevent diseases.

Aster cultivation is carried out via seedlings: seeds are sown in March-April, slightly covered with soil and watered with warm water. Germination occurs within 1-2 weeks, and after about 40 days, the seedlings are transplanted into open ground according to a 15x20 cm scheme. For successful growth and development, the soil must be enriched with humus. This approach ensures the formation of healthy and strong bushes that will delight with bright and lush flowers throughout the entire flowering period—from mid-July to September.
