Description Red-cheeked from Nikolaev
The variety was obtained at the State Nikitsky Botanical Garden by K.F. Kostina from clones of the Red-cheeked variety. It was included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region in 1974.
The tree is taller than average or vigorous, with a round, spreading, well-leafed, medium-density crown.
Fruits are large, weighing 55-60 g, broadly oval-egg-shaped, ripening in mid-July. The skin is yellow-orange with a beautiful blush. The flesh is fibrous, bright orange, with a harmonious balance of sugar and acid, good taste (rating 4 points). The stone is above average size (mass 4.4 g), broadly oval, finely rough. The abdominal ridge is slightly raised, the central ridge is sharp. The seed is sweet and separates freely from the flesh.
Winter hardiness is average. It has increased resistance to diseases. Yield is 80-90 centners per hectare. Self-fertile. Ripens in mid-July. Fruits have good table and technological qualities, are shelf-stable and transportable.
Advantages: large, attractive, tasty fruits, resistant to diseases.
Disadvantages: low winter hardiness.
