Indigenous variety of folk selection from Dagestan (Hadjal-Mahi). Originator: Dagestan Fruit Crop Experimental Station (DSOFC). Approved for mountain-valley subzone in 1947.
Medium-sized trees with rounded, moderately dense crowns.
Medium-sized fruits, up to 40 g, oval, slightly compressed on sides, main color light-yellow with orange blush. Skin is thick, moderately hairy, firm. Flesh is orange, medium-fibrous, medium density, slightly juicy, with significant acidity. Contains 10.6% dry matter, 7.61% sugars, 3.35% acids, 8.10 mg/100g ascorbic acid. Pit is large, constitutes 7.77% of fruit mass, separates easily from flesh. Kernel is sweet. Suitable for dried fruit production (4.0 points).
Early-bearing variety, begins fruiting from 4-5 years. Ripening period is July 28-30. Yield on native region up to 100 centners/ha, in Buynaksk 37 centners/ha. Good winter hardiness in highland Dagestan. Disease-resistant on native region.
Advantages: late ripening.
Disadvantages: inferior fruit quality.
