Linda

The Lygol apple is a winter variety of Polish selection, obtained by crossing the Linda and Golden Delicious varieties. The tree is of medium height with a wide pyramidal or rounded crown of medium density, reaching a height of up to 3.5 meters by the tenth year. The variety is characterized by early fruiting, starting from the 2-3rd year after planting, which allows for harvest in the first few years of cultivation. Trees establish quickly, grow intensively, do not require constant support, and do not form root suckers.

Lygol fruits are large, uniform, and round-conical in shape, weighing from 180 to 250 grams. Their color is intense red, while the flesh is light cream, dense, juicy, and aromatic with a harmonious sweet-sour taste. Commercial maturity occurs at the end of September, corresponding to the third decade of the month. Apples possess high commercial qualities, making them attractive for marketing and consumption.

The Lygol variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 28–36 tons per hectare, as well as good winter hardiness. The apple tree is resistant to major diseases such as scab and powdery mildew, which reduces the need for intensive chemical protection and eases garden maintenance. Thanks to these qualities, Lygol is excellent for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including Ukraine.
