Anise «Magic Elixir» – an annual herbaceous plant of the Apiaceae family, 30–60 cm tall. Its stem is straight and branched, while the leaves are entire with long-petioled basal edges. White flowers are arranged in compound umbels, giving the plant a decorative appearance.
Anise seeds are widely used both in cooking and in medicine. They are added to meat and fish dishes to impart a characteristic aroma and taste. Medicinal properties include use in chest, laxative, stomachic, and diaphoretic collections.
The plant is cold-hardy and resilient to adverse weather conditions, preferring light soils with high humus content. For garden and vegetable growing, it is recommended to remove young foliage before flowering to stimulate fruit development.
