Wonder Cot 1

The Wonder Cot apricot is a high-yielding, early-ripening variety of American selection, popular both in European industrial horticulture and in Ukraine. The tree is medium-sized, reaching up to 5 meters in height, with a moderately dense, spreading crown. The variety is distinguished by excellent winter hardiness, drought and disease resistance, making it suitable for cultivation throughout Ukraine, especially on sunny sites with fertile, loose soils. Wonder Cot saplings are grafted onto a jerdal rootstock, which provides a strong root system, high vitality, and resistance to wind loads, as well as suitability for poor and dry soils. The fruits of Wonder Cot apricots are large, weighing between 50 and 70 grams, oval-shaped, with thin, velvety, and elastic skin. The fruit color is orange with a bright red blush covering most of the surface, especially on the sunny side. The flesh is dense, juicy, orange-colored, with a pleasant sweet taste and moderate fiber content. The stone separates easily from the flesh, enhancing ease of consumption. The fruit ripens at the end of May to early June, making Wonder Cot one of the earliest apricot varieties, allowing harvest 7-10 days earlier than other early-ripening varieties. The variety is distinguished by high fruit quality and transportability, with fruits retaining freshness for up to a week after harvest. Wonder Cot apricots are ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for conservation in their own juice, for making compotes and juices.
