Goldrich

The Goldrich apricot variety is a high-yielding medium-ripening variety developed in the USA in 1971. Trees of this variety have strong growth and form compact or wide-spreading crowns. They are winter-hardy and resistant to moniliosis, making the variety suitable for cultivation in both home gardens and commercial orchards in Ukraine and other regions with similar climatic conditions. Flowering occurs in medium season, and fruiting begins on the 4th-5th year after planting.

The fruits of Goldrich apricots are large, weighing from 60 to 90 grams, occasionally reaching 150 grams. They have an oval shape with slightly flattened sides and a light-orange color with a blurred red blush. The flesh is juicy, aromatic, and has a pleasant sweet taste, making them ideal for dessert use. The stone is medium or large in size and separates easily from the flesh, facilitating fruit processing.

The variety is distinguished by high commercial qualities: fruits withstand long-distance transportation well, have good storability, and an attractive appearance. Due to these characteristics, Goldrich is widely used in commercial horticulture. Since the variety is self-sterile, successful fruiting requires pollinators — other medium-ripening apricot varieties. The fruit ripens in mid-July, allowing harvest at optimal times.
