The biology of Dolichodoridae revolves around their specialized feeding apparatus, known as a stylet. They move through soil pores to locate suitable roots, where they puncture cells to ingest cytoplasmic contents. Their development is influenced by soil temperature, moisture levels, and the availability of host root tissues, which facilitate rapid reproduction cycles.
