Zucchini RAPAZ

Consistent Yields for Commercial Vegetable Production

The choice of the 'Rapaz' zucchini hybrid from the American breeding company Abbott & Cobb is primarily driven by predictable results. In intensive farming, this bush-type hybrid is highly valued for fruit uniformity, which is critical for marketability: harvesting is more efficient because the zucchinis consistently meet size and shape requirements.

Agronomic Features and Field Application

'Rapaz' is optimized for producing commercial-grade vegetables in the 200–500 gram range. Within this weight class, the zucchini features the most tender skin and dense flesh, ensuring durability during transport. Abbott & Cobb’s American genetics focus on plant vigor, allowing the bush to develop a robust structure that naturally protects the fruit from overheating and direct sunlight.

• Harvesting: The cylindrical shape of the fruit is ideal for packing into standard vegetable crates. The lack of heavy ribbing makes it easier to process and clean at packing facilities.
• Succession Planting: The plant's high adaptability makes this hybrid suitable for maintaining a steady supply chain throughout the season.
• Market Application: This variety is well-suited for both the fresh market and retail sectors where a uniform, defect-free green appearance is essential.

Recommended for growers targeting retail chains that demand strict calibration and visual consistency. The compact bush habit allows for optimal planting density, maximizing yield per hectare when paired with proper mineral fertilization programs.
