Zucchini TERENUM

Stable yields of yellow zucchini

For farmers focused on the fresh market, the «Terenum» zucchini from Semillas Fito is a reliable tool for consistent commercial production. This Spanish-bred bush hybrid is prized primarily for its combination of early maturity and high resistance to powdery mildew—a critical factor for open-field cultivation in late summer.

Practical use and agronomy

The main task for which producers choose «Terenum» is conveyor-belt production. Fruiting begins 40-45 days after emergence, allowing for flexible planting cycle management. It is utilized in operations for:

• Securing early market access: the bright golden-yellow color makes the fruit stand out on store shelves compared to traditional green varieties.
• Reducing fungicide input: genetic protection against powdery mildew helps cut costs on chemical treatments during peak disease pressure.
• Standardizing harvest: the cylindrical shape and 200-500g weight are ideal for packaging in standard retail crates.

The plant features a compact bush growth habit, which simplifies maintenance: weeding, fertilizing, and the harvest process itself are significantly easier. Growers report high fruit density, which contributes to better shelf life and medium-distance transportability. Harvesting fruit at 16-18 cm in length is the "gold standard" for supermarkets, which prioritize aesthetic appeal and the tender texture of young squash.
