ZOLOTNIK

Zolotnik is a medium-ripening variety of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) intended primarily for feed use. The plant is medium-height with an erect bush, characterized by resistance to lodging, which ensures crop stability. The grain is large, with an unpubescent ventral groove and frontal lodicule; the 1000-grain weight ranges from 42 to 52 grams, indicating high-quality raw materials.

The variety differs in high and stable productivity, achieving yields of up to 6.3 tons per hectare, which averages about 38 centners per hectare in various regions. Zolotnik shows good drought resistance and high consumer value of the grain, with protein content reaching 16.2%. However, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as solid and powdery bunt, helminthosporium, stem rust, and root rots.

It is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Southwestern and Southeastern zones of the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as the Western, Northern Left-Bank, and Central Left-Bank zones of the Saratov region. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, Zolotnik is a reliable choice for agricultural enterprises oriented towards feed production and obtaining high-quality grain.
