ERGHEINSKY 2

ERGHEINSKY 2 is a variety of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) characterized by a mid-early maturity period and a multi-row grain structure. It is intended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and Middle Volga regions, where it demonstrates high yield, reaching up to 54.6 centners/hectare in some cases. The variety is characterized by high protein content in the grain - protein content can reach 23.5%, making it particularly valuable for feed and food purposes.

This barley exhibits resistance to diseases such as stem rust, net blotch, and dark brown spot, as well as moderate resistance to loose smut and powdery mildew. At the same time, the variety is moderately susceptible to stripe rust and root rots, which requires attention in agronomic measures. The mass of 1000 grains varies within the range of 43-57 grams, indicating good seed material quality.

ERGHEINSKY 2 is used both in livestock feed and in the food and alcohol industries. Thanks to its high content of protein, amino acids, and beta-glucans, this barley variety is a valuable component for the production of compound feeds and forage, and is also used in brewing and the food industry. Its cultivation is promising in Russia, despite a somewhat lower yield compared to hulled barley, which is compensated by high technological and nutritional qualities.
