Pride of Palmira

Pride of Palmira — a winter barley variety developed in Ukraine and registered in the state registry. This variety is characterized by high plasticity, stable yield, and adaptability to various growing conditions, making it valuable for agricultural production. The breeder is the Selection and Genetic Institute — National Center for Seed Science and Variety Evaluation in Odessa.

Pride of Palmira belongs to the medium-maturing group, with plant height of approximately 100–110 cm, as well as high winter hardiness and frost resistance rated at 8–9 points. Drought resistance is rated at 7–8 points, ensuring its reliability under various climatic conditions. The variety also exhibits resistance to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew, helminthosporiosis, and sooty mold.

The yield of the Pride of Palmira variety varies depending on growing conditions, but overall it demonstrates stable performance. According to research conducted in the Southern Steppe of Ukraine, the average yield of this variety was approximately 2.95 t/ha, indicating its suitability for modern agricultural requirements. Due to its characteristics, Pride of Palmira is recommended for cultivation across all regions of Ukraine.
