Barley Delicatesse

French genetics for high-yield performance

The winter barley variety "Delicatesse" from the French breeding center Secobra Recherches S.A.S. is a high-intensity, two-row variety designed for premium grain quality. Its primary strength lies in its balanced combination of strong winter hardiness and predictable dry matter parameters.

Agronomic potential

The variety shows excellent winter hardiness (8 out of 9), which is critical for regions with volatile winter temperatures. The two-row ear structure facilitates the development of large, uniform kernels with high test weights. Nitrogen content in the grain ranges from 11% to 12%, making this variety a strong candidate for both processing and feed production industries.

Strategic advantages

• Developmental stability: Secobra’s breeding ensures efficient utilization of early spring moisture.
• Quality control: A tight protein content range ensures harvest consistency and market predictability.
• Winter resilience: An 8-point winter hardiness rating significantly reduces the risk of crop thinning after extreme cold events.

"Delicatesse" is a technical solution for producers aiming for an intensive cultivation model with strict quality control during the ear-filling stage.
