Girlanda

Columnar apple 'Girlanda' is a compact tree up to 2.5 meters tall, making it an ideal choice for small gardens and limited spaces. The tree has a medium height due to the MM-106 rootstock and features straight, rounded shoots with hairy large buds. The leaves are large, dark green with a crinkled and shiny surface, giving the plant a decorative appearance.

Fruits of the 'Girlanda' variety have an elongated shape and weigh from 130 to 220 grams, with smooth, shiny green skin and a dark red blush on one side. They have an attractive appearance, withstand transportation well, and store excellently. The flesh is of medium density, greenish, with an unusual taste reminiscent of juicy ripe pear, making them especially attractive to consumers. The chemical composition includes 11.6% sugars and 0.60% titratable acidity, plus Vitamin C at 4.4 mg per 100 g.

The variety is characterized by high early fruiting and yield, reaching up to 29.4 tons per hectare on dwarf rootstock. 'Girlanda' has high frost hardiness, although winter covering is recommended for additional protection. One of the key advantages of the variety is its immunity to scab, provided by the Vf (Rvi6) gene, which significantly reduces the need for treatments and increases disease resistance.
