Pobeda 50 wheat represents a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of medium-early maturity and medium height. Plants are characterized by a height of about 90-95 cm, a semi-upright bush form, and a cylindrical ear 7-9 cm long with medium density and white color. The ear is covered with awns along its entire length, while the grain is medium-sized, ovoid in shape, with coloring and a shallow groove. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, which ensures yield stability under unfavorable weather conditions.
One of the key features of the Pobeda 50 variety is its high winter hardiness, which was confirmed under the harsh winter conditions of 2010 in Ukraine, where it showed the best results compared to many foreign and domestic varieties. Additionally, the variety has ultra-early ripening and good drought resistance, making it attractive for cultivation in various climatic zones. The yield potential exceeds 90 centners per hectare, and grain quality is highly valued by the milling and baking industries.
In terms of disease resistance, the Pobeda 50 variety has medium susceptibility to powdery mildew, septoria, and three types of rust, including brown and yellow, but it is more susceptible to stem rust and wheat head blight. To protect crops, seed treatment and fungicide treatments during the vegetation period are recommended. The variety is also resistant to loose smut under artificial infection, which further enhances its reliability and stability from an agronomic standpoint.
