Watermelon Zenith is an early-maturing variety distinguished by high yield and drought resistance. The ripening period ranges from 73 to 94 days from full germination to harvest. The fruits have a round or globe-flattened shape with a weight from 2 to 10 kg. The rind is light green in color with wide dark green stripes, is tough and leathery, and bends when pressed. Thanks to the dense rind, the fruits maintain their market appearance for a month after harvest.
The flesh of the Zenith watermelon is bright red or purple, granular, tender, juicy, and very aromatic. The variety is characterized by high sugar content and excellent taste qualities, making it particularly attractive to consumers. Thanks to these properties, the watermelon is suitable both for fresh consumption and for long-term storage.
Growing watermelon Zenith is possible both in open ground and in greenhouses. For planting, it is recommended to use light, well-aerated and water-permeable soils. Seeds should be treated with a potassium permanganate solution and rinsed before sowing. Sowing is conducted when the soil warms up to 15-16°C. In greenhouses, the trellis method of growing is applied with the formation of plants into one stem and leaving 2-3 fruits. Care includes moderate irrigation, loosening, fertilization, and covering the vines for protection from wind. Such an approach ensures the production of large, juicy, and aromatic fruits.
