Watermelon SRD 2

The SRD 2 watermelon variety is an ultra-early variety with a maturation period of 55 to 60 days, allowing for a harvest in a short time frame. The fruits have an oval shape and weigh from 4.5 to 5 kilograms. Their skin is decorated with dark green narrow stripes, while the rich red flesh has a granular texture and contains about 6.7% sugar, providing a pleasant sweet taste.

This variety is distinguished by its high yield — from 2.6 to 3.1 kilograms per square meter, making it attractive for growing on cottage plots. SRD 2 plants possess high resistance to fungal diseases, reducing the risk of rotting and allowing for healthy fruits when following agronomic recommendations and proper care.

The storage period for watermelons of this variety is up to 25 days, however, they are not intended for long-distance transportation. Due to their unpretentiousness, early maturation, and excellent taste qualities, the SRD 2 variety has become a popular choice among gardeners seeking to obtain sweet and juicy watermelons quickly.
