Watermelon Mamay

Fast-Tracking Harvests with Proven Genetics

The «Mamay» watermelon, developed by the Dnipropetrovsk Research Station of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing (NAAS), is a testament to the effectiveness of Ukrainian agricultural science. Specifically bred for the ultra-early segment, this variety is engineered for growers who need to bring a high-quality product to market ahead of the peak season. With a maturation period of 60-70 days, Mamay allows for efficient crop turnover and market leadership during the critical early harvest window.

Agronomic Profile

Mamay is designed for functionality and consumer appeal. It consistently produces round, uniform fruits that are easy to pack, store, and transport, minimizing mechanical damage. Weighing between 3.0 and 5.0 kg, it perfectly captures the growing demand for "portion-sized" watermelons—an ideal size for individual households and modern retail shelves.

Market Positioning

• Efficiency: Rapid development cycle ensures quick cash flow for farmers.
• Quality: The deep red flesh and refreshing flavor profile maintain the standards expected from premium domestic produce.
• Market Fit: Its compact size addresses the shift away from oversized watermelons, making it a preferred choice for urban consumers.

By choosing Mamay, producers are investing in a time-tested variety that offers reliability without the high costs often associated with imported hybrids. It remains a cornerstone for farms that prioritize consistent output and high marketability in the early spring season.
