The melon Graal is a mid-early hybrid with a maturation period of 68 to 73 days. It features an original fruit shape, which can be short-cylindrical or broadly oval, with a characteristic striped rind pattern. Fruits reach a mass of 10-12 kg and contain large seeds. The soluble dry matter content in the flesh is 11-13%, providing high consumer qualities and a sweet taste.
The plant is characterized by low growth with a height of about 50-60 cm, making it convenient for growing in various conditions, including irrigation, where yield can reach 60 tons per hectare. Fruit setting occurs simultaneously, and fruit maturation happens before the onset of frost, allowing for a stable and abundant harvest. The melon flesh is dense but not hard, with pronounced sweetness and an absence of excess acidity.
The Graal hybrid is the first domestic melon hybrid and received its name, which in translation means "Holy Chalice," symbolizing healing properties and benefits for health. Due to its characteristics, the melon is suitable for growing both in open ground and in limited space conditions, such as in planters or low greenhouses, expanding cultivation possibilities.
