Description Lena
Selected by marker traits among seedlings of Bryansk Pink. Obtained at the All-Russian Research Institute of Lupine. Authors: A.A. Astakhov, M.V. Kanshina, L.I. Zueva. Under state variety testing since 2006.
Medium-sized tree. Round-oval crown, raised, medium density. Branches medium, straight, horizontal, gray. Vegetative buds conical, slightly bent, generative buds oval. Leaves with pointed apex, doubly-truncate, matte, hairless, curved like a boat. Two stipules on the petiole. Petiole medium, 42 mm long, pigmented throughout. 3-5 flowers per inflorescence. Corolla saucer-shaped, large, petals white, loosely arranged. Calyx narrow-bowl-shaped, calyx lobes long (12-13 mm). Self-sterile, mainly fruits on bouquet branches.
Fruits large, average weight 6 g, maximum up to 8 g, blunt-heart-shaped, with wide depression and slightly pointed apex. Fruit color black-red. Cover color dark-red. Flesh dense. Pedicel long (50-51 mm), medium thickness. Stone medium (0.31 g), brown, pointed, with rounded base, easily separates from flesh. Fruits contain 22.7% dry matter, 11.7% sugars, 0.6% acids, 11.5 mg/100g ascorbic acid. Sensory evaluation of fresh fruits 4.7 points.
Late maturing. Begins fruiting on the 4th year after planting. Best pollinators: Revna, Tyutchevka, Iput, Ovstuzhenka. Average yield over 7 fruiting years: 80 centners/ha, maximum 121 centners/ha. Universal. Good resistance to coccomycosis, not affected by moniliosis or clasterosporiosis.
Advantages of the variety: high yield, winter hardiness, large fruit size.
