Viburnum Bagryana

A practical choice for the orchard: why choose «Bagryana»

The breeding work of the L.P. Simirenko Institute of Pomology (NAAS) has provided Ukrainian farmers with a guelder rose (viburnum) variety that perfectly fits the concept of a functional garden. If your goal is to obtain a stable yield from a compact plant that requires minimal space, «Bagryana» is the optimal solution.

Agronomic features and operational use

• Compactness as a key advantage: Small shrub dimensions simplify row planning and planting density. This allows for the integration of the crop into existing plantings, serving as a hedge or an intermediate windbreak line.
• Harvesting and logistics: Due to the compact crown, harvesting operations are performed within tight timeframes. The lack of need for specialized high-altitude machinery reduces harvesting costs.
• Versatility of raw materials: The fruits of this variety are suitable both for fresh market sales and industrial processing. The variety is valued for its skin firmness, which is critical for medium-distance transportation.

Farm application scenarios

The core value of «Bagryana» lies in its dual-purpose nature. In farming operations, the variety is used to create ornamental and productive zones. The berries meet standards for the production of phytopreparations, juices, and jams. When planting, note that the variety responds well to standard agricultural practices and does not require the specific care conditions characteristic of sensitive exotic species.
