Tulip Silvano

Technical Potential of the Silvano Variety

The Triumph class tulip 'Silvano' represents a breeding achievement that balances aesthetic value with biological resilience. The primary engineering feature of this cultivar is its genetically encoded immunity to key pathogens, which is a decisive factor in commercial floriculture.

Biological Defense and Immunity

The durability of 'Silvano' is rooted in its systematic resistance to prevalent fungal and viral threats:

• Verticillium Wilt: the selection focuses on maintaining vascular integrity, ensuring uninterrupted nutrient flow to the flower head.
• Fusarium Wilt: inherent resistance to soil-borne pathogens allows for a reduction in pesticide application during the vegetative phase.
• Tobacco Mosaic Virus: the stable genetic code prevents decorative degradation or petal deformation caused by viral infection.

Morphological Parameters and Application

Being a mid-season flowering variety within the Triumph class, 'Silvano' provides a predictable development cycle. Its low stature is a technical advantage: the compact stem structure minimizes the risk of lodging caused by high winds or excessive irrigation. The intense red pigment of the petals exhibits a high light-absorption coefficient, maintaining color depth even under strong solar radiation. 'Silvano' is highly efficient for high-density landscape planting and forced cultivation, as its spatial configuration maintains adequate airflow around the base of the plant.
