Tulip Onno van ter Brink

Reliability in Cultivation: Why Growers Prefer 'Onno van der Brink'

When planning forced cultivation or setting up plantations of Triumph-class tulips, resilience against soil-borne pathogens is often more critical than aesthetic appeal. 'Onno van der Brink' has proven itself as a practical tool for professionals aiming to minimize the loss of planting material. Its genetic resistance to verticillium and fusarium wilt significantly reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications, making it a preferred option for commercial greenhouse operations.

Agrotechnical Specifications and Applications

This mid-season tulip is essential for those who need to synchronize harvest schedules with specific market windows. Its average height ensures a sturdy stem, which simplifies both manual and mechanical harvesting. The density of the petals allows for high-quality transportability, ensuring the product retains its commercial appeal long after the cut.

• Disease Resistance: Natural immunity to cladosporium and tomato mosaic virus eliminates the need for intensive quarantine protocols during the growing season.
• Color Profile: The classic yellow and white color scheme makes it a versatile staple for commercial bouquets where color uniformity is paramount.
• Practical Use: Suited for industrial forcing in both substrate and open soil, offering the predictability required for large-scale production.

Field experience confirms that 'Onno van der Brink' is forgiving of minor temperature fluctuations, consistently delivering stable stem parameters. For growers, this equates to a lower rejection rate and a more reliable yield forecast throughout the season.
