Tulip Goedele

Reliability and Performance in the Triumph Class

The Goedela tulip is a standout representative of the Triumph class, widely valued in commercial horticulture for its structural integrity and consistent blooming. Designed for both professional forcing and landscape use, this variety is highly favored by growers looking for a low-maintenance, high-yield crop. Its robust resistance profile—specifically against downy mildew, powdery mildew, and cucumber mosaic virus—minimizes the need for heavy fungicide programs, making it an excellent choice for integrated pest management systems.

Practical Applications for Growers

With its low-growing habit, Goedela is exceptionally versatile for specific agricultural scenarios:

• Container production: Its compact size ensures sturdy, self-supporting stems that do not require additional netting or staking, even in high-density greenhouse setups.
• Predictable forcing: The medium bloom time allows producers to manage their supply chains effectively, scheduling harvest windows precisely for key market dates.
• Landscape and public spaces: Due to its resilience against wind and heavy rain, it remains upright and aesthetically pleasing throughout the bloom period.

The white and pink petals offer significant market appeal, making Goedela a staple for florists looking for high-quality, long-lasting cut flowers that retain their color intensity under controlled greenhouse conditions.

Agro-Technical Advantages

The primary advantage of the Goedela cultivar is its exceptional health status. The inherent resistance to viral pathogens like the cucumber mosaic virus significantly reduces the risk of crop failure and simplifies sanitation protocols. For commercial operations focusing on consistency and quality control, Goedela acts as a dependable workhorse, delivering a high percentage of premium-grade bulbs and uniform stems. By investing in this variety, growers effectively reduce their operational risks and input costs related to disease mitigation.
