Tulip Esprit

Esprit Tulips: A Reliable Choice for Commercial Growers

For agricultural producers, selecting a tulip variety is as much about disease management as it is about aesthetics. The 'Esprit' variety is widely recognized in professional circles for its robust health profile, making it a reliable performer in both greenhouse and field conditions.

Built-in Resistance

The primary advantage of the 'Esprit' cultivar is its genetic tolerance to common pathogens that typically compromise bulb crops. It shows superior resistance to:

• Verticillium wilt, ensuring plants maintain vigor throughout the growth cycle.
• Downy mildew (Peronospora), preventing premature leaf drop and foliage damage.
• Phoma rot, which safeguards root and bulb integrity.

By investing in a naturally resilient variety, growers can significantly lower their expenditure on chemical fungicides and reduce the risk of crop loss during high-moisture periods.

Practical Applications

As a late-blooming variety, 'Esprit' is an excellent tool for crop succession planning, allowing growers to extend their harvest window after the early season varieties have peaked. The distinct red and yellow coloration provides high market value, appealing to floral designers. With a standard medium height, this tulip is easy to process, transport, and arrange into bouquets, requiring minimal labor-intensive support systems during cultivation.
