Tulip Eros

Peony-like Beauty with Robust Resilience

The 'Eros' tulip is a distinguished member of the late double (peony-flowered) class. It is cherished by gardeners for its dense, ruffled petals and a delicate pink hue that maintains its luster throughout the late spring season. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, 'Eros' is a practical choice for those who value longevity and disease resistance.

Why 'Eros' Stands Out

• Superior Disease Resistance: One of the strongest traits of 'Eros' is its natural resistance to common tulip ailments, including Fusarium root rot and Fusarium wilt. It also shows a high tolerance against anthracnose and tobacco mosaic virus, ensuring cleaner foliage and healthier bulbs year after year.
• Structural Integrity: Despite its large, heavy blooms, this tulip features a tall, sturdy stem. Unlike other double varieties that often flop after spring rain, 'Eros' remains upright and elegant, making it an excellent candidate for both garden borders and professional cut flower production.
• Late-Season Bloom: As a late-flowering variety, it brings color to the garden just as other bulbs begin to fade, bridging the gap between spring and summer perennials.

Cultivation and Best Practices

This variety is highly recommended for both amateur hobbyists and professional landscapers. Its genetic stability makes it a predictable performer, provided that it is planted in well-draining soil. While it is genetically fortified against many pathogens, ensuring the soil is not waterlogged will help maximize its impressive height and petal count.

If you are looking for a reliable, low-maintenance tulip that offers the aesthetic impact of a peony without the typical fragility of high-end hybrids, 'Eros' is the superior choice. It combines the aesthetic of a classic show-stopper with the resilience required for modern, sustainable gardening.
