Tomato Nezhdanny

High-Yield Efficiency and Crop Health

Selecting the right variety for open field cultivation requires a balance between low maintenance and fruit quality. The 'Nezhdanny' tomato, developed by the N.I. Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources, acts as a reliable asset for agricultural operations. As a determinate variety, it simplifies plant management, significantly reducing the labor involved in pruning and overall crop maintenance.

Agronomics and Disease Management

With a maturation period of 100-120 days, producers can plan their harvesting schedule with precision. A critical operational advantage of this variety is its inherent resistance to late blight (Phytophthora). This biological durability directly translates into cost savings by reducing the frequency of fungicide applications and minimizing losses during the growth cycle.

Post-Harvest Profitability

For operations focused on fresh market delivery, 'Nezhdanny' offers excellent performance. The fruit is large (over 200g) with a flat-round shape and bright yellow color. The skin density provides high transportability, ensuring the product reaches the destination without damage. Furthermore, the ability to store the fruit for over 30 days gives operators the leverage to bypass the market gluts immediately following harvest and sell when conditions are more favorable.
