Tomato SHUNTUKSKY GIANT

Yield consistency with "Shuntuksky Giant"

When selecting a tomato variety for commercial production, the focus shifts from aesthetic appeal to actual tonnage. The "Shuntuksky Giant" from the "Biotechnika" association is an indeterminate variety that demands disciplined agronomic practices but rewards the grower with impressive fruit mass. With a growing cycle of 120-130 days, it is a robust choice for those aiming for high-volume harvest.

Field and Greenhouse Performance

Being an indeterminate type, this variety requires consistent staking and pruning. Since the fruit weight easily exceeds 200 grams, proper cluster thinning is essential to prevent stem breakage. The flat-round shape of the tomatoes makes them uniform and easy to pack, which is a significant advantage during the harvesting season. Managing the plant's height is crucial; left untended, the vigor of this variety can lead to chaotic growth that complicates maintenance.

Economic Viability

Reaching a yield of 160-190 tons is attainable, provided that the planting density and fertilization schedules are optimized. The classic red color is what the market demands, and the flesh density allows for medium-distance transportation without significant spoilage. The key to success with this hybrid is managing its "appetite" — it is highly responsive to potassium-rich fertilization, which directly influences fruit sizing.

• Maintenance: Strict pruning and humidity control to prevent fruit cracking.
• Commercial potential: Versatile fruit, ideal for both fresh market sales and industrial processing.
• Reliability: Tried-and-tested selection by "Biotechnika," ensuring predictable performance if the technical manual is followed.
