Tomato Samson

Working with 'Samson' Tomato

When working with determinate varieties from the Czech breeder Moravoseed, the first thing you notice is the consistency. 'Samson' is a classic, practical tomato that delivers exactly what you expect. It is a no-nonsense variety that doesn't demand complex cultivation techniques but responds perfectly to standardized farming practices. Its compact habit makes it easy to navigate the rows, simplifying everything from pest management to the final harvest.

Cultivation and Performance

For any grower, the key to a successful determinate crop is planning. With 'Samson', ripening is synchronized, which allows for efficient harvest cycles and less time spent walking the rows. The plant is highly responsive to drip irrigation and precise fertilization. Moreover, it exhibits impressive resilience; if the watering schedule is slightly disrupted, the plant doesn't shed its blossoms, making it a reliable choice for farms where labor and logistics management are critical.

Maintenance and Durability

• Labor Efficiency: In open-field conditions, this variety requires minimal pruning, which significantly lowers labor costs throughout the growing season.
• Disease Management: Thanks to its natural resistance, the crop fits well into standard protective spraying schedules without needing extra-strength chemical loads.
• Post-Harvest: The fruit density of 'Samson' is above average, ensuring the produce remains in top condition during transport to markets, preventing the losses often associated with softer varieties.
