Tomato Carrot

Technical Profile and Genetic Potential

The «Karas» tomato variety is a product of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of NAAS, engineered specifically for stable productivity in open-field conditions. Its growth architecture follows a determinate pattern, an essential feature for producers looking to streamline field maintenance and minimize labor-intensive tasks like staking and pruning.

Biological Defense and Resilience

The core value of this variety lies in its robust genetic resistance package. Built-in protection against Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt, and Alternaria blight significantly reduces the need for heavy pesticide applications. For the agronomist, this means a more predictable crop cycle: the plant maintains foliage integrity throughout the growth stage, ensuring consistent fruit development.

Production Metrics

• Maturity: A mid-season crop with a maturation period of 105–115 days.
• Fruit Morphology: The oval shape is optimized for structural integrity during logistics, ensuring minimal loss of marketability during transport.
• Yield and Size: With a fruit weight averaging 100–140 grams, it serves both the fresh produce market and processing sector. Expected yields reach 60 tons per hectare under proper nutrient and irrigation management.

«Karas» provides a reliable solution for farms focused on maintaining high return on investment through balanced agronomic performance and stress tolerance.
