Tomato PROFESSIONAL is a medium-maturing, high-yielding determinate hybrid, specially developed for cultivation in polycarbonate and winter greenhouses. The plant is tall, reaching up to 180 cm in height, and forms up to 7 trusses on the main stem, each containing up to 15 intensely red fruits weighing 80-100 grams. The fruits are distinguished by excellent taste qualities both fresh and for canning and pickling, making this variety versatile for various uses, including whole-fruit canning.
Tomato belongs to the Solanaceae family and has a powerful root system penetrating to a depth of 1.5-2.5 meters, enabling cultivation even without regular watering. The crop is heat- and light-loving, does not tolerate shade or frost, and is sensitive to high air and soil humidity, which may lead to disease development. The optimal soil moisture should be 70-80%, and the best soils for cultivation are sandy loams and light clays with neutral pH, rich in humus and well-warmed. On heavy and waterlogged soils, it is recommended to grow tomato on ridges and mounds.
For seedling production, seeds are sown from mid-March at a depth of 1-2 cm, at a germination temperature of 14-18°C, with an optimal germination temperature of 20-25°C. Transplanting seedlings is carried out in the 2-3 true leaf stage, with planting depth up to 5 cm after thorough watering. In May, seedlings are transplanted into unheated plastic greenhouses, covers, and greenhouses, burying the main stem 10-12 cm deep. Care for plants includes timely watering, especially before flowering, during fruit set, and at the beginning of fruit ripening, as well as regular weeding, loosening, and fertilization. The hybrid is resistant to major diseases, ensuring a stable and high yield.
