Tomato PRIDE OF THE URAL

Reliable harvest in short-season climates

The 'Gordost Urala' (Pride of the Urals) tomato represents a specialized breeding achievement aimed at overcoming the limitations of short, cool growing seasons. Unlike many commercial hybrids that demand perfect, stable warmth, this variety demonstrates high resilience to temperature fluctuations, making it a dependable performer in both home gardens and semi-professional field settings.

Key features and cultivation tips

• Plant habit: A determinant variety, meaning the plant stops growing after setting a certain number of clusters. This makes it manageable and perfect for low-profile greenhouses or open ground.
• Early maturity: With a ripening period of under 90 days, it is a race-winner against the arrival of late-summer frosts and humidity-related diseases.
• Fruit profile: Producing fruits weighing over 200 grams with a classic flat-round shape, it hits the sweet spot for those who want substantial size without waiting for mid-to-late season varieties.

Strengths and considerations

The core strength of this variety is predictability. Its vibrant red fruits maintain their quality even when sunlight is inconsistent. It is designed for efficiency: providing a solid, meaty tomato that performs well in culinary uses. However, because it is an early-maturing determinant type, it is vital to keep the plant well-fed; without proper nutrition, the plant may struggle to push the fruits to their full 200g+ potential.

For whom is this variety ideal? It is the perfect match for growers in high-latitude or unpredictable climate zones who need a fast, reliable yield. It is not intended for those seeking endless vining plants, but rather for those who want a structured, low-maintenance plant that delivers large, tasty fruits early in the season.
