Tomato PRIDE

Spanish Breeding for Professionals: Pride Tomato

In the seed market, determinate tomato hybrids from the Spanish company Semillas Fito occupy a niche of reliable solutions for open-field cultivation. The "Pride" hybrid is the result of years of breeding, focused on combining high yield with adaptability to climate stress. Unlike greenhouse varieties, this tomato demonstrates resistance to temperature fluctuations and intense solar radiation, which is critical for southern growing regions.

Technological Parameters and Morphology

The biological specificity of this hybrid lies in its life cycle: it takes 120–130 days from transplanting to harvest. This places it in the mid-late segment, allowing producers to plan their harvest for a period when the market is beginning to experience a shortage of high-quality produce.

• Plant Type: Determinate (limited growth, ideal for mechanized care).
• Fruit Size: Variability from 100 to 200+ grams, making it suitable for both the fresh market and industrial processing.
• Color Palette: A standout feature is the diverse range of colors, from classic red to exotic brown and sunny yellow shades.

The fruit shape is classically round, ensuring excellent transportability. Leveraging the genetic potential of Semillas Fito guarantees a high level of shelf life, maintaining marketability even after long-distance logistics. For the farmer, this translates to minimal waste during distribution.

Market Reputation

"Pride" is the choice of growers who prioritize predictability. In volatile climate conditions, Semillas Fito’s determinate lines demonstrate stable fruiting without blossom drop. It is recommended for use both in large-scale farming operations and for small-plot gardens where the balance between labor input and crop quality is essential.
