The tomato variety ONDERO is a medium-maturing hybrid developed by German and Dutch breeders from companies Bayer AG and Monsanto Vegetable IP Management B.V. The plant is indeterminate, strong and open, with medium-length green leaves and simple inflorescences. The plants are semi-determinate, about 40 cm tall, which facilitates care and harvest. The variety is resistant to a number of diseases, including ToMV, ToTV, Pf and Fol, ensuring stability and reliability in cultivation under various climatic conditions.
The ONDERO tomato fruits are large, flat-round, weighing between 217 and 260 grams on average, with bright red coloration and medium ribbed shape. They feature dense, fleshy structure, moderate juiciness and rich flavor with pleasant aroma. The fruits contain four or more locules, contributing to high quality and marketability. Dry matter content reaches 5%, sugar — 3.2%, vitamin C — 23.4%, with low acidity (0.3%), making the fruits particularly nutritious and flavorful.
The ONDERO variety exhibits high yield, reaching up to 38.5 kg/m² in greenhouse conditions, significantly exceeding standard benchmarks. It is suitable for year-round cultivation in protected ground and is recommended for regions of Kazakhstan, such as Almaty, Jambyl, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkistan regions. These tomatoes are ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for making tomato paste and canning due to their density and fleshy texture. High marketability and attractive appearance make this variety popular in the fresh vegetable market.
