Tomato Olivia

A reliable "workhorse" for your vegetable patch

The "Olivia" tomato from Euro-Semena is a classic example of a variety where predictable performance beats experimentation.

Field performance

The determinate growth habit significantly simplifies the daily routine. These plants don't turn into uncontrollable vines that require constant staking and pruning, saving a significant amount of labor. With a ripening period of up to 90 days, you can plan your harvest well before the late-summer blight season hits.

• Disease Resistance: This variety stands its ground against classic issues like alternaria, fusarium wilt, verticillium wilt, and tobacco mosaic virus. Less chemical spraying, more organic potential.
• Fruit Quality: The 80-100g plum shape is the "golden standard." They don't crack easily under fluctuating moisture levels, a common headache with larger varieties.
• Logistics: Durability is high. The fruits are firm and hold up well during transport from the field to the kitchen (or the market), preventing them from turning into mush.

Practical application

Olivia doesn't demand complex agricultural schemes. The focus should be on proper irrigation and basic nutrient management during fruit set. Due to its compact size, the variety thrives in both open fields and low film covers. The harvest comes in in a relatively tight window, which is convenient if you are prepping for preservation or market sales. Olivia offers predictable results that even novice gardeners can handle with ease.
