Description
Matias tomato — a mid-early determinate hybrid developed by Seminis, intended for spring and autumn cultivation. The vegetation period ranges from 110 to 115 days. The plant is compact with short internodes, the first flower clusters form above the 10th-11th leaf, subsequent ones form every 2-3 leaves. Due to its plasticity and adaptability, the hybrid adapts well to various climatic conditions and consistently sets fruit even under extreme temperatures. The Matias tomato fruits are large, round, slightly ribbed, bright red, weighing from 250 to 300 grams. They have excellent taste, resistance to cracking, and high transportability, making them convenient for storage and transportation. The fruit type is bif, which further highlights their attractiveness to consumers and producers. The hybrid is highly resistant to a range of diseases, including stem rot, tomato mosaic virus (TMV), fusarium, verticillium, cladosporiosis, and nematodes. Additionally, Matias is tolerant to stressful conditions and hormonal treatments, ensuring stable yields of up to 25 kg per square meter under optimal conditions and around 12 kg in the summer-autumn cycle.
