Tomato HAKUMARU

Stability and Weight: The Potential of Large-Fruited Tomatoes

In the segment of pink-fruited indeterminate varieties, "Khakimaru" by Monsanto occupies a niche for professional farmers who prioritize marketability and fruit weight. While many alternatives struggle to maintain a large, uniform shape under peak temperature conditions, this hybrid demonstrates commendable resistance to cracking.

Agronomic Advantages

• Weight Indicators: Consistent fruit weight of over 200 grams makes this variety highly sought after in both wholesale and retail markets.
• Early Maturation: A growth cycle of up to 90 days allows for efficient crop rotation, which is vital for greenhouse facilities aiming to maximize area utilization.
• Yield Potential: A yield of 70–100 tons per hectare confirms the effectiveness of intensive cultivation technologies when working with this specific hybrid.

Who is this hybrid for?

Khakimaru is optimal for professionals operating in greenhouses. As an indeterminate variety, it requires precise pruning and plant training, so it performs best in the hands of experienced agronomists. With proper fertilization and climate control, you receive more than just a "pink tomato"; you get produce that is uniform in shape and caliber, possessing better transportability than many other pink-fruited counterparts.

A notable aspect is the mandatory requirement for trellis support. In open fields without proper care, the plant may quickly lose its yield potential due to excessive vegetative growth. However, for those seeking the perfect balance between large size and predictable results, Khakimaru remains a reliable asset in any production line.
