Hibachi tomato is a mid-late maturing indeterminate hybrid, suitable for cultivation in winter and plastic greenhouses, as well as under light cultivation. The plant features a strong, elongated, but open growth habit, with long green leaves and simple inflorescences. The hybrid is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation and is recommended for use in private households and commercial production.
The fruits of the Hibachi tomato have a pink color and a round, slightly ribbed shape, weighing between 100 to 200 grams, depending on growing conditions. They consist of 2-3 chambers, have medium density, and juicy, sweet flesh with high sugar content (up to 6.0 on the Brix scale). The fruits are resistant to cracking, making them ideal for harvesting in clusters and subsequent packaging on trays. The clusters are flat, and it is recommended to thin to 6 fruits for optimal development.
The Hibachi hybrid exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus (ToMV), fusarium wilt (Fol), verticillium wilt (Va, Vd), powdery mildew, and other pathogens. Thanks to these qualities and its good taste, the variety ensures stable high yields — up to 50 kg of marketable fruit per square meter in winter greenhouses with extended turnover. The Hibachi tomato is excellent for salad use and cultivation under various climatic conditions.
