Tomato Haiti

Haiti Tomato: Precision Dutch Breeding

In the competitive landscape of greenhouse vegetable production, the 'Haiti' hybrid from Enza Zaden has established itself as a benchmark for premium cherry tomatoes. Developed by the renowned Dutch breeders, this indeterminate variety is designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern commercial cultivation, balancing high-yield capacity with superior fruit quality throughout long growing seasons.

A Genetic Shield Against Pathogens

The primary reputation of the 'Haiti' variety is built upon its advanced resistance profile. As the industry faces increasing pressure from viral threats—most notably the Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV)—'Haiti' provides growers with a critical level of security. Its robust genetic makeup provides inherent resistance against:

• Tomato Mosaic Virus (ToMV) and Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV).
• Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV).
• Fusarium wilt.
• Various viruses causing yellowing and leaf curling.

By integrating this comprehensive resistance, agricultural professionals can significantly lower chemical dependency, ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable production cycle that aligns with current market demands for high-quality, safe produce.

Performance and Market Value

With an iconic plum shape and a vibrant red color, 'Haiti' tomatoes are visually optimized for the premium fresh-snack segment. Weighing up to 20 grams, the fruits offer a consistent size that is ideal for high-end retail packaging. Their structural integrity and excellent shelf life make them a preferred choice for supply chains requiring durable logistics. For growers, 'Haiti' represents a reliable investment; it is a proven tool that delivers predictable, high-value yields, helping producers maintain profitability even in challenging market conditions.
