DORODNY

The tomato variety DORODNY is a medium-early indeterminate type developed by breeders of the Agrofirm 'Semen Altaia'. Plants reach a height of up to 150 cm in open ground and up to 2 meters under greenhouse conditions. The fruit ripening period is approximately 110-116 days, allowing for early harvest. The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 4.2 kg per square meter, making it attractive for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Northern, Central, Ural, and Far Eastern regions. DORODNY is resistant to cold climates, expanding its cultivation potential. The tomatoes are large, weighing from 250 to 800 grams, with a flat-round shape and a rich maroon color. They feature a sweet flavor without acidity, a meaty texture, and high sugar content, making them particularly suitable for children's and dietary nutrition. Thanks to their bright aroma and flavor, DORODNY tomatoes are ideal for fresh consumption as well as for processing into tomato products. The fruits ripen gradually, allowing for harvest throughout the season, and underripe tomatoes can be ripened off the plant. For successful cultivation, the plant should be pinched and trained to 1-2 stems with mandatory suckering and staking. Seeds are sown in March on slightly compacted soil, followed by mulching and maintaining a temperature of about 25°C until germination. Seedlings are grown with gradual temperature reduction from 25°C to 15-16°C, then to 20-22°C. Transplanting into open or protected ground occurs when plants have 9-10 true leaves, with spacing of 40x40 cm. During the vegetative period, magnesium and potassium feedings are recommended to improve fruit quality and quantity. The variety responds well to watering and fertilization, promoting stable growth and fruiting.
