Tomato DE BARAO BLACK

Tomato De Barao Black is a late-maturing, tall, indeterminate variety with a vegetation period of 120–130 days. The plant can reach up to 2 meters in height and requires support on a trellis, as well as formation into one or two stems with regular pinching. The leaves are dark green, and the variety is undemanding in terms of agronomic conditions, resistant to temperature fluctuations and shade tolerance, allowing cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. Tomato fruits have a plum or egg-shaped form, colored purple-brown or brown-red, weighing on average 50–60 grams. They are dense, smooth, and not prone to cracking, ensuring good storability and high transportability. Due to these qualities, the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for processing and whole canning. The variety is characterized by high yield—up to 8 kg per square meter—and low susceptibility to late blight. The long shelf life allows fruits to be stored for up to 5 months, making this tomato convenient for long-term storage and transport. All these characteristics make De Barao Black a popular choice among gardeners who value the combination of flavor, yield, and resistance to adverse conditions.
