HURMA

Tomato Hurma is a medium-maturing determinate variety with a bushy form and plant height of 80 to 100 cm. This variety is characterized by a strong stem and good leafiness, which contributes to forming a large number of fruit-bearing clusters. The plant has good growth vigor and can withstand increased temperatures and irregular watering, making it suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic covers. For successful fruiting, regular fertilization and care, including weeding, soil loosening, and preventive treatment against diseases and pests, are recommended.

The fruits of tomato Hurma are large, weighing 200 to 300 grams, with a flat-round shape and a characteristic green spot on the surface. Their color ranges from golden-yellow to bright orange when fully ripe. The flesh is juicy, fleshy, and tender, with a high beta-carotene content, giving them dietary properties. The taste is sweet with a slight, barely noticeable acidity, making them attractive for fresh consumption.

Tomato Hurma prefers light loamy and sandy-loam soils, with an optimal growth temperature of 23-25ºC. It can be grown from seedlings or direct sowing of seeds into the ground. Although the variety does not exhibit high resistance to major solanaceous diseases, proper agronomic practices and preventive measures ensure good vitality and stable fruiting.
