Tomato DANDY

A Sunny Touch for Your Garden: «Dandy» Tomato

In the world of yellow-fruited tomatoes, the «Dandy» variety from Sedek occupies a niche for those who are unwilling to compromise between aesthetics and shelf life. This late-maturing variety (120–130 days from germination) is designed to produce large fruits that not only look impressive in salads but are actually capable of surviving transportation and long-term storage without losing their marketability.

Key Advantages

• Scale and Color: Fruits weighing over 200 grams have a characteristic flat shape and a vibrant yellow-orange color. This makes them stand out on the shelf and ideal for processing into slices.
• Endurance: The main feature of this variety is the fruit's ability to remain stable for over 30 days after harvest. Unlike many juicy salad tomatoes, «Dandy» does not soften significantly a week after picking.
• Transportability: The firm skin and flesh allow for easy delivery of the harvest from the field to market points without bruising.

Who is this variety for?

«Dandy» is a find for farmers targeting local markets and gardeners who prefer to stockpile for the winter. It is not considered an early-maturing variety, so in regions with short summers, it is best grown in protected ground. This is not the type of tomato that spoils as soon as it ripens — it is a professional tool for obtaining a stable harvest with an excellent shelf life. The downside is its long vegetative period, which requires patience and proper agronomic care, especially regarding disease prevention in the second half of the season.
