Tomato Black Jack

Stable breeding for professional greenhouses

The «Black Jack» tomato is the result of years of research by VNIISSOK breeders, specifically designed for greenhouse cultivation. This variety, developed by Russian scientists, has secured its place in the indeterminate tomato segment due to its adaptability to challenging growing conditions. Over decades on the market, it has proven itself as a reliable «workhorse» variety for growers who prioritize consistent, predictable yields.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

The primary value of «Black Jack» lies in its complex resistance profile. In the high-humidity environment of greenhouses, where fungal diseases spread rapidly, this hybrid demonstrates high tolerance to:

• Mycosphaerella leaf spot;
• Brown spot;
• Late blight;
• Tobacco mosaic virus.

This natural defense allows farmers to reduce the frequency of fungicide applications, which is essential for sustainable and ecologically oriented farming practices.

Yield Characteristics

With a ripening period of 90–100 days, this variety is classified as mid-early. As an indeterminate plant, it requires pruning and staking, but this effort is fully rewarded by the high commercial quality of the fruit. The flat-round, bright red tomatoes, weighing over 200 grams, feature a dense structure that ensures excellent shelf life and marketability. This makes «Black Jack» a profitable choice for retail distribution, where maintaining fruit integrity during transport is critical.
